Technology

To deliver high-quality, reliable video reception on portable devices, fundamental changes in TV tuning technology, low-power RF CMOS chip architectures, and digital signal processing are required. Challenges presented by portable reception environments include motion and high-speed environments, small antenna profiles, variable signal strength, nearby and stronger broadcast signals, and different frequency channels in different countries.

Telegent Systems has developed a portfolio of patented technologies called SureTrak™ to address these challenges, setting a new benchmark for sensitivity and picture quality on highly-integrated, ultra-low power, and small footprint single-chip CMOS designs.

SureTrak™ is a collection of advanced algorithms and architectures that yield performance enhancements in both reception sensitivity and power consumption. Directed at overcoming the real world impairments caused by motion, high speed, and variable signal strength, SureTrak enhances and optimizes reception, providing error prevention and error concealment while achieving the industry’s absolute lowest power. SureTrak’s reception optimization combined with advanced Doppler and multi-path compensation algorithms result in exceptional picture stability and color lock in everyday challenging reception environments.

Because mobile TV standards vary between geographical regions, Telegent Systems’ solutions also provide multi-standard support including worldwide free-to-air analog and digital TV along with subscription broadcast standards.
